Early grades are ripe with opportunities to infuse engineering design practices into all curriculum areas. Young children are enthusiastic about discovering and exploring the world around them. Opportunities to harness and hone an understanding of the engineering design process should not to be missed. Discover how following best practices aimed at teaching STEM through this innovative, research-based curriculum can be used to differentiate learning for students. During this session, participants will experience and analyze an engaging engineering design challenge for early childhood students. Participants will leave with a sample engineering design challenge as well as a multitude of resources and techniques for effective implementation in the elementary classroom.
