AR Math QuEST (Quantitative Essentials for Students and Teachers) is a journey for ambitious teaching that promotes equity and engagement of all students in meaningful mathematics learning experiences of reasoning and problem solving. AR Math QuEST empowers educators to help students develop positive identities as doers of mathematics to increase student achievement. This session will explain the framework for this two-year professional learning experience focused on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Effective Teaching Practices and the Standards of Mathematical Practice. The rationale establishing the need for AR Math QuEST will be presented, and participants will learn how they can begin their QuEST for ambitious teaching.
