This session will explore how today's STEAM Education can impact a community's creative economy and placemaking efforts by focusing on the intersection of the arts with technology, health, and tourism. Engaging students through STEAM education can foster an innovative - out of the box thinking- workforce, which can lead to students investing in their communities; thus, adding in population retention, economic development, and community revitalization. We will also discuss how STEAM integration can be used to invigorate Arkansas’s smaller and/or rural communities through art-based agri-tourism.
