The concept that it takes “a village to raise a child” has been around for a long time. This mentoring program connects caring adults supporting the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of a child. Mentors are asked to give their time to a child, care about that child, and believe in that child. This relationship may provide the ONLY stability a child knows, and the only time anyone spends quality time with the child. This session shows how Bright Futures Lincoln works within the Lincoln Consolidated School District to build relationships between community members and poverty students.
